Branding

ConceptBranding has always been a strong passion of mine. The brand of a company is of utmost importance to its success. If a company is not able to reflect its key values, motivation, credibility, market and emotions, then it will have an uphill struggle from the very beginning. To define your brand is to define the personality of a product.

 

HowHow It Works
Firstly there are one or two consultations in which we discuss key elements to your company such as the market direction, company ethos and competitors. Then after analysing the best direction we feel to take the brand, we enter the design stage in which you get to view the "concept" and variations within that. Once concept is set, we finalise any tweeks and I produce your brand manual and CD. This consists of the brand guidelines and logo variations.

HHTB :: The client's brief was to produce a strong brand identity to reflect the clientele of the company. Branding guidelines were produced to ensure the brand’s integrity. The client had stationery, signage and web design produced, which all followed the brand’s integrity. HHTB are an exclusive high-end construction company. The aim was to create something that was not instantly thought of as a construction company and could be ambiguous to its meaning. It would not be until the name was shown on signage outside a construction company that the logo would have greater meaning. The success of this branding project paid dividends for the client. Revive :: Stuart Reiss is a personal trainer that wanted to brand himself, and a selection of products he was producing, including health holidays. It was important to incorporate himself as part of the brand, which included a unique brand that could be implemented through a range of products. The brief also included creating the actual brand name and obviously the brand guidelines. Sis Pins Hotel :: The clients brief was to re-brand the old current identity of Sis Pins hotel to a new more affluent younger clientele. The brand must feel expensive and has a strong sense of identity, modern but keeping a sense of history from the area and hotel. Peix i Congelats Aina :: This company is a Mallorcian frozen fish and vegetable company. They asked me if I could produce a fun, quirky brand with an iconic image as part of their logo. It was important to the company that their brand could be seen from a distance and instantly recognisable within Mallorca. The brand had to incorporate a bright, different image that reflected a retro-chic quality. Khazana Recipe Book :: I was approached to do the recipe book for Chef Rishi Kainth, the concept for the book was to supply 80 fantastic exciting recipes, whilst not only promoting his restaurant but promoting Chef Rishi Kainth as well. The book contained fantastic vegetarian Indo-Chinese recipes. There is a heavy Indian influence within the recipes and of course the Chef! So the book was based around colour, bright strong colour, to reinforce the origins of the exciting recipes. It was also important to maintain a young fresh approach within the book to reflect Chef Rishi personality! All the photography was done in-house and directed by me. It was taken either within his restaurant or just outside. All the recipes followed the same two-page layout composition. The predominant colour of each recipe always changed. Each new section was signified by a quote from the Chef on the left, this was to help promote the Chef and add a warm personal touch to the book. On the second page was either an "action shot" of the Chef cooking, or a final dish of the section. Each new section introduction followed the same two-page layout, but only the predominant colour changed. Sa Vinya // menu design :: Sa Vinya is a hidden treasure in the mountains of Mallorca. This little restaurant is a place to relax, chill-out and enjoy good Mallorcian food. I was asked to design a daytime menu that had to be in four languages! The menu had to reflect the casual, retro-chic ambience that the restaurant is renown for. I hand drew the design and their logo, and then coloured in Photoshop. This created a unique design that had a specific retro chic feel. The menu has a unique method to open to cater for the four languages. Each coloured section is a different language. This is designed for ease of use. The menu was designed to look great from any angle, or any side. Three versions were made, Autumn (which is this one), Summer, and Winter. The difference in the design was the colour scheme. Freddy Astounding Magic // poster design :: The poster design was created to promote Freddy the magician’s new act. It was displayed around Palma de Mallorca. The call to action was to get people to go to his website and find out more about his new act. HowHow It Works
Firstly, as in the branding process, there are one or two consultations in which we discuss key elements to your company, such as the market direction, company ethos and competitors. Then we discuss exactly what you want from the print design. Once we have a firm concept the design process begins. Whilst designing, if necessary I will be in contact with the printers to ensure the finished article is exactly how we intended it to be. Once the design is finished and confirmed it is signed off and sent to the printers! It is always recommended to have a proof from the printers that will be used as well, which if requested, I can organise for you.

IP Studios

I have designed, created and maintain IP Studios website. I re-branded the company to IP Studios with the slogan "print. web. design." to appeal to more of the English speaking market. The website follows the new brand guidelines. It is a very comprehensive site, with many different parts to the site. It was important to be creative, but not to scare the more "traditional" clientele IP has. The site has been constructed with SEO in mind. Please take your time to view the whole site.
I took control of all the email marketing, blog, social networking, and maintenance.

There are two sectors of the Nauti Parts brand.  Sales and Service which specialises in the sale of Jet Bikes, boats, tenders and other large water based equipment and Xtreme which specialises in the sale of extreme sports equipment and clothing.

Nauti Parts needed a website to promote both sides of their company and promote that they are an official Seadoo dealer. The website follows their branding guidelines and is XHTML valid.

The brief for this website was to create a comprehensive website which attracts a new more affluent younger clientele. The website was based on simple navigation, clean design and strong imagery. I implimented SEO, a CMS (Content Management System), Multi Platform Accessibility with an iPhone version of the site.
The site was also in English and Spanish. A branded facebook page and twitter account was created, alonside a blog.

The blog was added to help appeal to a younger audience. The blog also helped update regular guests of the changes to the Hotel, Pollensa and Mallorca whilst also servinge as a reminder to previous guests about the Hotel. The blog will also help add content to the site which will increase SEO.

This series of photographs is a fun little project that questions the stereotype of whom is the boss within a relationship, the man, or the woman! We tried to create a fun, bright environment, we introduced classic/retro elements into the obscure scene to add more depth to the photography.
